Tina Bernd-Cohen

Tina Bernd-Cohen is a planning consultant living in Florida and Montana. In her 38 year career, she has worked with public and private organizations specializing in program development and evaluation; policy formulation; legislation; natural resource and environmental programs; local planning; land use and growth controls; comprehensive planning; coastal zone management; education and citizen’s outreach; community facilitation; and fund raising.

Major recent multi-year projects included Executive Director for the Blackfoot Challenge, a 1.5 million-acre watershed group in western Montana, and a facilitator for the Crown of the Continent Project covering 10 million acre watershed in southern Canada and northern Montana. Other examples of her work include Project Coordinator for the USDOC National Coastal Zone Management Effectiveness Study that evaluated contributions of 29 state coastal programs in meeting national coastal policy objectives over 25 years; Consultant to the Florida Coastal Resources Interagency Management Committee, advising ten state agency heads on program organization and priority issues; Consultant to the State of Florida Coastal Program and Governor’s Coastal Citizens Advisory Committee, advising the governor, agency directors, and legislature on coastal management issues. She is a Fellow with The University of Montana Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and has recently reconnected with Florida Atlantic University Center for Environmental and Urban Solutions.
